This paper explores the influence of unsupported sleepers on the interaction between wheels and rails in railway systems. Sleepers, also known as ties, play a crucial role in providing support and stability to the rail infrastructure. However, when sleepers become unsupported or deteriorate, they can significantly impact the dynamic behavior of trains and tracks. Through a combination of analytical modeling and numerical simulations, this study investigates the effects of unsupported sleepers on various aspects of wheel-rail interaction forces. The findings highlight the importance of proactive maintenance strategies to address sleeper support issues and maintain the reliability of railway networks.
